listening to Glee Season 2 songs
eating nothing at the moment
drinking Iced Green Tea brewed in the Keurig
wearing T-shirt, shorts and flip flops
feeling a little bittersweet
weather is hot and sunny
wanting a shiatsu massage
needing to find a good planner/appointment book
thinking about the new job I'm starting in a week
enjoying this precious time off
wondering what exactly I'll be doing with my new job
The last time I did a list of currents, I had just applied for a new job while still working my old one. Yesterday was my last day as a fifth grade teacher. And, while I have been looking forward to this day for two weeks, it was still bittersweet.
I love teaching. I love seeing children's faces light up with learning. But, it was stressing me out. Elevated blood pressure, sleepless nights, stomach aches, headaches, nightmares (yes, really), mood swings. It's a wonder that I'm still standing and not held together by super glue and staples.
So, yesterday...I cried the last hour of school and half-way to my next destination. Yesterday was a day of endings and beginnings. I met some of my new co-workers, whom up until yesterday couldn't so much as whisper my name out loud.
A door closed, but a window is wide open...and I'm climbing through it. Here's to blessings!

Ready for December!
Looking at the title of my post, you must be thinking I'm nuts. In some ways I am ready for this year to be over. Lots will be going on in December (aside from my birthday and Christmas) and I'm ready to document it!
I've put together a few December Daily albums already. I have 3...snippets of 2008 and 2009 are here on this blog. None of them are the same. I didn't blog back when I did my first one. Or if I did, I didn't take pictures of it! It is nice to look back and see how much the little ones have grown, how our family celebrations have stayed the same or have differed and what has been going on in my life in December of each year.
So, the title of my post actually has to do with the fact that my December Daily album for 2010 is ready to be filled.
The cover...I'm on this hand-stitching kick thanks to Amy Tan, Kinsey Wilson and Lisa Truesdell's tutorial on the Studio Calico blog.
Supplies: Heidi Swapp Invisibles Chipboard, Maya Mist (lime metallic), Studio Calico Mister Huey's (apple jack), Noah Alphabet and Months stamp sets, Harmonie patterned paper, Making Memories stick pins, tape and flower, DMC floss and Miss Cutie Pie tickets.
1Supplies for inside pages: patterned papers from my stash...includes Cosmo Cricket, Basic Grey, and who knows what else, Miss Cutie Pie tickets, Ormulo printables and some other online downloads that I cannot locate at the moment. I used a combination of number stickers and number stamps (studio calico Noah) for the dates.
I still haven't decided how to bind it or if I want to the whole 31 days (as opposed to 25).

Catching up on scrapping
Lots of things going on around here. I haven't scrapped as much as I would like to, but I have a few things to share.
This first layout I did under the eagle eyes of Lucas. Let me tell you, it was the first experience I have had with someone watching me scrap and asking questions every step of the way. But, I loved it!
The second layout I did for The Scrapping Spot's "Let's Celebrate" crop. The challenge was to do a layout celebrating today. I used an Ali Edwards stamp that I got in a CK kit of the month package ages ago. I hand-stitched over the stamped image. On a hand-stitching kick thanks to Kinsey Wilson and Amy Tan!
This last project was also for TSS's crop. The challenge was to make a banner. I made this one simple... :)
