The boys were playing with some toys during Auntie Marie's garage sale. I love the mix of toys sitting on the ground.

We had a storybook parade at school to close out Read a thon. Our class used the book "Miss Nelson has a Field Day". I was Miss Nelson...having a bad hair day with the tangled Hannah Montana wig that I borrowed from a six-year-old. Photo by Krystopher, one of my students.

It was time for some pampering. I got my nails redone and a pedicure. Was going to go for eyebrow waxing, but the wait was too long.

It's mid-quarter time at school. I filled out 40+ progress reports for each of my students. I still have 24 more to go. UGH.

I hate bringing work home. It gave me a headache. Seriously. I had a headache working on work at home.

All the teachers were given chef hats to wear during morning assembly in the courtyard for Read a thon week. The theme was "Feed the Need to Read". Hence, the hats.

All grown up and in high school. Academy had their songfest...Toria's first ever! They did well, but didn't place in any category.

Project 365 February week 2
45/365
Shopping at Cost U Less on Saturday. We were in serious need of food.
44/365
We had a Valentine's Dance at school. The kids didn't know what to do...run around in circles was the activity of choice.
43/365
I finally broke down and bought a Blackberry Curve 8320! It so happened that I COULD switch over and do stuff to my account without having to pay a few limbs for it. I will be spending LESS for phone use, texting AND data service than I did on my current plan.
42/365...on my thumb drive....It was a scorching 89 degrees when I got into my car this afternoon..... sigh.
41/365
I got a Tracy Joy bag! It came quickly, too! Now I can carry my DSLR around without worrying too much about it being banged around inside my purse. It fits my camera with a lens on plus my other 2 lenses, my wallet, cell phone, 2 checkbooks, IPOD Touch, and random other things.
40/365
I got a letter from the auto insurance company saying I OWED MONEY for my premium. I dug out the receipt stating I paid in full. Darn pieces of cr*p...second year in a row they did something to my account. I was pissed off!
39/365
Lucian's first birthday celebration. We celebrated the week after he turned one. Not that he knew the difference!

Taking on Davinie's Challenge
≈
I've already scrapped this picture once...in my January album. Davinie gave out a challenge on the Studio Calico blog. Scrap something you did in January. We waited for the ice cream truck to come around our neighborhood! It's exciting to hear the music and buy some ice cream from a roving truck. Just think, it's gas we don't have to buy and a lot less temptation along the aisles of a store. We were super disappointed that day...the ice cream truck came around long after we had headed into our respective houses.
Here are a few more layouts for the "Use your stash" challenge at Willow traders. I've done 4 layouts so far with the February 09 kit from The Scrapping Spot!

Bring it on...challenges
Dalis posted a link to We Kit U Not's Challenge Blog on The Scrapping Spot's message board. I was intrigued by the concept and wanted to give it a go. This challenge was to use some kind of embossing, dry or wet. Since I usually need all 10 of my fingers to heat emboss and having only 9 to use at the moment (I still have all 10 fingers, but that story is for another day), I opted for dry embossing. I broke out my newest cuttlebug embossing folder and my trusty original sizzix machine and went to town. Using the now sold out TSS February 2009 kit, I made this layout:
See that piece of kraft cardstock? That went through the sizzix machine in the cuttlebug embossing folder. I then inked it with chalk ink and used it to layer under my pictures. I also took a sharpie white marker and colored the AC plastic shapes...they were PINK!
Products used in this layout:
TSS February 2009 kit {papers and cardstock, flowers, black floss, brad, center kisses, letters for "not"; and a scrap piece of gold cardstock from the December kit}, Stampin' Up scallop border punch, kraft cardstock, "Nadiya" alpha stamps and library stamp from Studio Calico, sharpie white marker, and American crafts plastic shapes {}.
